For designer, Rebecca Lombard-Earl, bridal fashion is more than a trend; it is timeless and glamorous, and has the power to transform. From her secret attic showroom, she handmakes an abundance of gorgeous bridalwear, from bespoke ombre veils (something she has become well-known for), to fabulous frills and tassel-trimmed seperates (which are designed to be worn and worn again long after the big day), this is bespoke bridalwear – done very, very well.

She creates bespoke gowns to suit all budgets and tastes, from contemporary to Gothic to eclectic to fairy tale, and is proud to cater for the fuller figured ladies. Vintage Gold
Depsit offering bespoke consultations, brides can also peruse the most extensive stock of vintage dresses in the North East: over 200 original dresses from all eras, in excellent condition. These can be upcycled or customised to any size. Prices range from £150 to over £1000.
Bex Brides also stocks an extensive range of ex-sample gowns in pristine condition at up to 70% off RRP including many by Rembo Styling, Kenneth Winston, Benjamin Roberts, Lilly and Bianco Evento.

Get to Know Bex
The inspiration behind my bespoke pieces… is my passion for the glamour of the 1920s to 1970s bridal design.
A trend I foresee is… ombre. It's an upcoming trend that takes me back to my childhood of dip-dyed skirts and tops. It's a way to introduce colour to an ivory gown in a very personal way.
How do you keep your vintage gowns modern? All my clients add their own personality to the gowns, which keeps them both modern and timeless. I design for a mix of brides wanting a fully authentic, era-accurate look and those just taking inspiration from a decade.
My approach to designing is… my ideas just appear and I just start pinning and draping the fabric. I like to work straight on the mannequin. I rarely make the same design twice, as I like all my brides to be truly individual.
