HOW THEY MET

MSN Messenger provided the online connection for this pair of lovebirds before meeting in person on a night out in Sunderland finalised them as a couple. Christmas Eve 2021 was their ever-romantic proposal date with the big day  planning starting pretty soon after.

THE PLANNING WAS QUITE OVERWHELMING AT TIMES BUT ALSO VERY EXCITING FOR ME. LUCKILY WE WERE REALLY WELL PREPARED FAIRLY EARLY ON DUE TO THE HOTEL PROVIDING SUCH A COMPREHENSIVE WEDDING PACKAGE

EMMA, THE BRIDE

THE VENUE

After meeting suppliers and falling in love with The Clarion at their own wedding fair, Emma and Stuart decided that the spaces and suites within The Clarion were perfect for their big day. Styling the venue was a breeze as once they had decided on a package to suit their party (after sitting down with the hotel’s wedding team), they also realised that a styling and floral package was included and Emma had only to opt for a colour to suit her season of choice, late autumn/winter 2024.

She opted for crisp white throughout. Their top table was framed with a beautiful white floral heart backdrop whilst their bespoke neon “I bet you look good on the dance floor” paved the way for some serious shape-shifting dance floor moves.

The wedding breakfast was utter perfection, as their party dined on flavoursome tomato soup followed by a chicken dinner with sticky toffee pudding providing the required sugar hit to allow for the evenings dancing. Explains emma; “ The menu choices were plentiful and portion sizes amazing, we had so many compliments from our guests about the food!”

The night buffet was equally relished as the party dined on chicken curry and rice, assorted sandwiches, potato wedges, wraps and pies, presented beautifully and providing a welcome assortment for guests.

WHAT THEY WORE

Emma chose a sleeveless ballgown with botanical embellishments from English Rose Bridal Boutique to complement her bridesmaids who leaned into the autumnal wedding date in an array of forest green dresses. There was no second dress - “ It was so comfortable I wanted to keep it on all day”, explains Emma

Stuart opted for a tweed ensemble from Suit Culture, an online groomswear company. The brief was a nod to an ‘old English gentleman’, once again using a colour palette that was in keeping with their autumnal wedding date.

BELLE LOVES

This couple had their own bespoke newspaper designed for their big day!

BEST BITS

“Stuart standing on my dress at every given opportunity provided so much humour on the day” recalls Emma “As for the most emotional bit -  it has to be welcoming all of our guests into the room for the wedding breakfast. We looked around and saw so many of our friends and family altogether, that was quite emotional”.
