REAL WEDDINGS
A Joyous Union at Woodhill Hall
Jill & Anthony’s utterly joyous union played out utilising all of the eclectic spaces that Woodhill affords, allowing this couple to freely adopt this estate as their domain of happiness. And it shows. Cue laughter, excitement and heartfelt emotion from a duo that originally met at school and connected again via Instagram during Covid 19.
How many guests did you have at your wedding?
We had 30 guests for the daytime and 60 for the evening
What was it that attracted you to Woodhill Hall?
Woodhill was the first and last venue we visited.
As soon as we saw the Olive House with its Santorini aesthetic we knew that’s where we wanted to marry. The rest of the venue was perfect and intimate, exactly what we were looking for. The staff at Woodhill and owner Corrinne were just so nice and we were made to feel so welcome every time we visited. We loved every room at Woodhill and were excited to see the plans for their refurbishment before our union took place.
We were blown away once we got to visit and see it finished and just knew we had definitely made the right decision to choose Woodhill.

Talk us through the spaces you used on your wedding day.
There was no doubt we wanted to marry in the Olive House, we didn’t want to over style it either - as it’s just so beautiful as it is. The Elephant Courtyard was used for the drinks reception, we prayed for the rain to hold off and we got lucky with sunshine. We all enjoyed Passionfruit Martinis (our favourite cocktail) and had Charlotte Kennedy playing the violin, as well as a magician keeping everyone entertained. It was just perfect. The Orangery was used for the wedding breakfast, being a small wedding we were able to space our tables out and have an area for the children to sit away from the adults and play. Again, it was just perfect. The evening reception was in the teepee and it was fantastic, loads of space for guests to both sit and chat and dance the night away. We loved The Secret Bar too, it’s an amazing addition to the experience.
What is your favourite space at Woodhill Hall?
I think our favourite space at Woodhill has to be the Olive House, such a stunning space for a ceremony.
Tell us more about the menu you had on the big day.
The menus we chose were purely based on all food that we love, from asian salad with prawns to the amazing beef fillet which was perfectly cooked to the divine almond and blueberry tart. The food at Woodhill is just amazing, the serving staff were brilliant and all our guests were highly complimentary.
If you had to choose, what was your favourite part of the day?
Our favourite part of the day was the drinks reception outside in the sunshine with our family and friends. Carn, our photographer, was brilliant! Myself and Anthony felt like we could enjoy this time with everyone whilst also getting the all important photos done, all guests commented on how great he was.
Who was your favourite supplier?
I could not name a favourite supplier as they were all so amazing. Lisa Jones has to be mentioned for her skills with hair and make up, she’s just a lovely person to be around and so calming on a very stressful morning. As mentioned Carn Patrick and Charlotte were just so brilliant in making our day so special. Our florist, Vicky, did an amazing job with flowers. She listened to exactly what we wanted and I was so happy with how it all came together. The band, South West Band played for us in the evening and were so good. Being a small wedding they did so well to get people up to dance and even let my cousin Bob play on the bass with them!
