HOLIDAY ROMANCE
When on a business trip in Ibiza 10 years ago, Sharifa met Michael at the iconic Ocean Beach Club. Michael then popped the question at the Lodore Falls Hotel in the Lake District and they planned their wedding in record time, in six months and with two children – we can all imagine the nail-biting, hair-pulling-out moments! But with a well-established hero venue like Woodhill and their team of amazing suppliers they managed to create a perfect day to remember.
THE VENUE
With an original plan to wed in Greece, their vision was stopped in its tracks but as if by fate they came across Woodhill's Grecian, Santorini-inspired Olive House, and knew this was the one and only venue for them. They didn’t view anywhere else as they felt Woodhill had everything they wanted.
As they had family from Ireland and the UK it was the one place that could offer a very intimate wedding weekend where everyone could be together, with a BBQ on the Friday to kick off the weekend and let everyone to catch up before the big day ahead – a perfect way to relax and really immerse themselves in the celebrations.
THE VIBE
Sharifa and Michael wanted fresh, modern and minimalistic to be the feel of their wedding, therefore the perfect florals for styling encompassed crisp white roses and delicate baby's breath to compliment their vibe.
THE DRESS(ES)
After trying on only three dresses, she tried on THE dress and Sharifa knew from the moment she put it on. She loved how it had sequins, beading and was strapless with tulle wings, giving her an elegant luxurious look. However, Sharifa is a short queen at only 5'1", and she knew that it would be difficult to bust some moves on the dance floor with a long skirt! How could she solve this... with a second dress of course! Sharifa chose a gorgeous fitted and feathered mini dress, which she rocked with her pink Ugg slippers – sounds like heaven.
Their photographer Deb at Imogen Kate Photography was one of the few people with a very calm and collected presence on the big day, which makes you feel at ease when you are in front of the lens. Deb had photographed their family shoots and their legal ceremony too, they knew she was the one to entrust with capturing their day.
WE KNEW WE COULDN’T HAVE HAD ANYONE ELSE THERE TO CAPTURE OUR DAY. HER EYE FOR DETAIL AND FOR CAPTURING THE MOMENT IS SOMETHING SHE HAS TO BE CREDITED FOR. SHE IS SUPER TALENTED! SHARIFA, THE BRIDE
