REAL WEDDING

Read the Romance...

We’ve got another beautiful lockdown real wedding, and this time it’s captured magnificently by the esteemed Lake District wedding photographer on our #guestlist, Chelsea Cannar Photography.

Hills, homeliness, and a whole lot of love.

The Unlikeliest of Meetings

For Andrea and Ryan, it wasn’t your stereotypical ‘boy meets girl in a bar’ start to their love story.

Rather, it was ‘boy meets girl on a room rental website’… meeting on Spareroom.com when looking for a house share. Not quite Ryan Gosling in The Notebook, we must say!

“I had two viewings lineD up; one with a girl in a stunning, newly-renovated house, one with a boy with a pile of dishes in the sink… No brainer!”

Unsurprisingly Andrea opted for the first option, but her and Ryan decided to stay in touch having hit it off immediately and became good friends before beginning dating.

One Woodland Walk

Ryan popped the question in the most romantic way possible – a Christmassy woodland walk in the Cumbrian countryside.

With Andrea’s family travelling up from the south for Christmas and planning to meet the pair at the local pub for an open mic night, Ryan suggested him and Andrea go for a walk to Finglandrigg to wear their puppy out beforehand. Little did she know, but this particular leg stretch would mark the start of the rest of their lives together.

“I was walking along in front on the, Ryan called my name, I turned around and he was down on one knee with an engagement ring. We were able to announce our engagement to friend and family later on that evening in the pub; it was just perfect for us!”

Small But Mighty

Andrea and Ryan always knew they wanted a small wedding but a big celebration.

With the latter out of the question due to the pandemic, the pair decided to go ahead with their small gathering at Lady Gillford’s registry office where their immediate family watched them tie the knot in romantic fashion.

Luckily, the couple have small families so whittling down the guest list to fit restrictions wasn’t a problem, and the rest of their family and friends have the promise of a big celebration when it is safe to do so. A family friend made masks for the whole wedding party so that they were all matching – but masks or no masks, these two were born to marry!

Very aware of the importance of finding a quality photographer to capture such an intimate day, Andrea and Ryan were drawn to the relaxed documentary style of Chelsea Cannar. Vibrant colours, attention to details and her sparkling personality ticked all of their boxes.

WE WERE ABLE TO SPEND QUALITY TIME TOGETHER AS A FAMILY AND FORGET THAT WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC FOR A BRIEF MOMENT IN TIME.

Shoots To Cherish

We are loving the variety of settings that Andrea and Ryan invited into their big day.

From the traditional feel of the ceremony with the antique panelling, the stained glass and ornate furnishings, to the immense photo shoot on the Cumbrian fells, one of Andrea’s late mother’s favourite spots, these images speak a thousand words.

TO HAVE A MOMENT OF PEACE OVERLOOKING THE LAND THAT MY FAMILY HAD FARMED, REALLY HELPED US TO FEEL GROUNDED. THAT QUIET MOMENT WILL ALWAYS BE SPECIAL.

Belle Loves: Throughout lockdown this pair worked tirelessly to renovate their old barn, where they posed for the ultimate pretty pictures with their much-adored cats, dog and horses! Animal lovers defined…

A Day To Remember

The highs and lows of wedding planning during a pandemic certainly took their toll on this couple, but what resulted was a glorious celebration of two country bumpkins surrounded by everything they loved.
