Ellingham Hall: Laura and Jamie's Whimsical Wedding Weekender

DATE

For Laura and Jamie, it was a swipe right at first sight, after initially finding their love for one another on dating app, Tinder.

Throughout their relationship, the couple stayed over at a family cottage in Donegal, Ireland, where unexpectedly, one particular visit during a cosy night at the cottage, Jamie suggested a toast over champagne where he proceeded to take out a beautiful diamond ring and ask Laura to marry him - “it was perfect”, she said.

Beautiful and intimate, their perfect proposal made way for a whimsical wedding weekender, filled with love and laughter by family and friends – an absolute must for Laura and Jamie - and after visiting this exclusive Northumberland venue, bursting with charm and character, it was Ellingham Hall that ticked every box.

Exquisite Ellingham Hall:

The luxurious and elegant setting of Ellingham Hall, surrounded by secluded landscaped grounds and woodlands, delivered the ultimate two-night wedding experience for Laura and Jamie’s magical celebrations.

The couple fell in love with all that this English country house had to offer and although they visited other venues, it was Ellingham Hall that stole both their hearts.

“We decided almost immediately it was where we wanted to get married, walking into the ceremony room for the first time, it just felt right.” - Laura

After tying the knot in the sumptuous ceremony space, the couple’s guests spilled into the breath-taking Chapel where they were stunned by the original architecture and beauty that ran throughout.

Complete with plentiful and pretty blooms, eucalyptus and olive leaf decorations, this flower-filled room combined with a subtle and elegant colour palette of pastel colours, was certainly dressed to impress.

Opting to hire the full Estate, the bride and grooms loved ones were able to stay for two nights with the happy couple, with 17 Hall bedrooms included and a further seven picturesque country cottages on site.

The Gown of Dreams:

“I definitely had a picture of ‘the dress’ I wanted in my head but I still really wanted to make an experience out of trying lots of dresses on, after all, what little girl doesn’t dream of playing dress up in all the pretty wedding dresses?” - Laura

After visiting various boutiques and trying on many different styles, it wasn’t until Laura and her bridal party came across The Wedding Dress Company, where she found the dress of her wedding dreams that she had pictured all along.

Laura instantly fell in love with this Blue by Enzoani gown, in style ‘Journey’, graduated with delicate straps and crystal stones, providing the bride with an ultra-romantic look. This tulle mermaid gown, with embroidered lace detailing, no doubt made a statement on their wedding day.

Words from the Bride:

“Don’t forget why you’re doing this! I think it’s so easy to get swept up in the ‘perfect’ wedding day with social media and influences at the moment. Getting married in the face of a global pandemic and imminent lock down really put things in to perspective for us!

We love each other and want to be together as husband and wife, all of those little tiny details which we’d spent months worrying over really paled into insignificance on the day!”
