Beamish Hall Hotel: Katie & James’ Grandeur Celebration

DATE

“The day was beyond perfect and it will be a day to cherish for the rest of our lives.”

From the Bar to the Balcony:

Having met in 2012 in a bar in Newcastle, James and Katie’s relationship swiftly took a more romantic turn as they jetted off to Katie’s favourite country, Italy, for a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. It was here that James popped the question on a private balcony overlooking Lake Como, and they set the date with 11 months to plan it.

Country House Charm:

Having worked in the wedding industry previously, Katie knew exactly how she wanted her dream day to be – a fairytale wedding with lavish luxury, alluring elegance and joyous love all rolled into one. In her hunt for all three, Beamish Hall ticked every box.

A Grade II-listed country house with grand interiors surrounded by thick woodland, the venue provided the picture perfect backdrop to their big day. Katie had worked at Beamish for many years and immediately knew it was her dream venue – she didn’t even need to view any others (to the pleasure of James!)

Their marriage was hosted in Shafto Hall, a magnificent suite complemented by oak panelling, while the wedding breakfast was enjoyed in the Monboucher room – where stunning bay windows overlook a beautiful backdrop for photographs that they will share and cherish forever.

The main theme for the wedding was neutral but stylish glamour. The colour scheme was carried throughout the wedding that was a soft blush and nude colour palette provided by Beamish Extras with personalised touches.

#GownGoals:

Katie’s wedding dress was from Mia Sposa and the moment she laid eyes on it, she knew it was her dream dress (she’s a very decisive bride!).

“From a young age, I always wanted a long, detailed train. I visited many wedding dress shops and tried on every style possible, but found it very difficult to narrow it down to one dress.

However, when I put my dress on, the whole room filled with emotions from my bridal party and I knew from there it was the one.” – Katie

Katie's dress had a sculpted, sweetheart neckline with leaf-style lace which was layered with beading throughout the gown, creating unique patterns and rich dimension. Beginning from the top of the gown, the grand cape train extended to the ground and was finished with a luxurious lace hem.

Nuptial Navy:

James purchased his suit and all the groomsmens' from Moss Bros. The Groom’s navy suit was personalised with their wedding date, stitched inside alongside ‘Mr and Mrs Young’.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Katie & James found their perfect photographers and videographers at the wedding fair.

“When we received our photographs and wedding album, we were blown away by the pictures that they had managed to capture. James dislikes getting his photos taken but they both put him at ease with such natural shots. Our videographers captured perfect memories that we will cherish forever.” – Katie

Steve Bone is a talented musician and played various ‘Ibiza Vibe’ songs which filled the dancefloor for the whole night. According to Katie, everybody continues to talk about his amazing talents and she will be hiring him for James’ 30th.

Bridal Beauty:

Katie’s hair and makeup were provided by talented duo Keep it Pinned and Makeup By Georgia. She has used both stylists many times and was so excited for them to make her feel a million dollars on her big day.

The Little Touches:

Low Fell Florist provided all of the flowers for the day. Katie used these for many years and has always been stunned by their arrangements. Sue tailored everything to the way Katie wanted it and helped her through every step of my dreams and fully exceeded.

Rosewood and Co designed and created the stationery, from the invites to the seating plan.

The cake was created by Vanilla and Dreams and was a simple yet elegant design.

Advice From The Bride:

“Breathe, enjoy the planning process, and ultimately, cherish your day being with all your loved ones. Remember to soak in the moment and take time out to spend with your husband.”

Magic in The Maldives:

“We booked our honeymoon a few months after booking the venue with Kuoni. We originally had planned to go to Sri Lanka, Maldives and Dubai, however, due to it being unsafe to travel to Sri Lanka at the time, we extended our stay in Dubai.

Two days after the wedding, we set off on our travels. Our honeymoon was a dream come true and we managed to stay in some of the most luxurious hotels. The Maldives was my favourite and we totally relaxed after the build-up to the big day and managed to spend some quality time together.” – Katie
