“Do you fancy marrying me?” – Christopher

In the privacy of their hotel room Katie’s groom-to-be had popped the question in a beautifully, romantic and secluded proposal in what she described as ‘true Chris fashion.’

A Beachside Bride

Not only was The Grand Hotel, Tynemouth’s beach-facing location incomparable, but the professionalism of the staff really blew the bride and groom away.

“The rooms used for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception were dressed beautifully.” – Katie

Katie and Christopher went for simple, yet chic styling for their venue. The celebration spaces were dressed in white gypsum, green lead and a flourish of pink to match the bridesmaids’ gowns.

An Unforgettable Moment

After weeks of rehearsing in the kitchen, once Katie and Chris had said “I do” they had their first dance together.

“It was just us… personal and close. It was the moment we got together to realise just then… we were married.” – Katie

The Gown

Surrounded by gowns sourced from international wedding events at Bridal Wish, Katie found THE DRESS during a private appointment with her mum.

Fitting like a glove, both she and her mum fell in love with her fitted, strapless gown crafted in lace from Atelier Pronovias.

When her dad saw her in the gown the next day it brought a tear to his eye and they bought the gown on the spot… when you know you really do know!

The Bride’s Advice

‘Breathe. Take your time. Involve your partner as much as possible.’ – Katie

It’s important that both you and your fiancé are happy with the decisions you make, even if that means visiting an extra venue or look at that other supplier you liked. Katie also says that brides don’t need to get sucked into the idea that beautiful details need to cost the earth. Guests will remember the love in the room and the feeling of the day.
