Joanna and Haydn’s Cosy Country New Years Eve Extravaganza
REAL WEDDING
Read the Romance...
It’s New Year’s Eve, and exactly one year since this gorgeous couple tied the knot at The Star Inn at Harome. Captured by our magnificent Guest List photographer Lara Frost Photography, Joanna and Haydn’s day was a country luxe affair with a fairy-lit tipi, a magnificent marriage menu and a joy-filled gathering of their nearest and dearest. Quite the way to round their 2019 off. While 2020 has been somewhat of a disaster, we look forward to the better times (much like this cosy country affair) to come.
Here’s to 2021 – more proposals, more weddings, and most importantly, more love.
Pretty Proposal
Whilst on holiday in Koh Samui, romantic Haydn took the opportunity of a sea swim to surprise his bride to be. After taking a few pictures with the selfie stick to grace the gram, Joanna turned around to find Haydn on one knee – and unsurprisingly, her answer was a resounding yes.
Country Class
This dazzling duo are both from Yorkshire and therefore as the stereotypes suggest, are very outdoorsy people, so a country luxe wedding celebration was always on the cards. Opting for the charming setting of The Star Inn at Harome, a rustic gourmet bolthole that both Haydn and Joanna had frequented growing up, their day was just as they wished.
Florals and foliage filled the venue and outdoor tipi, blue-hued decorations made for a wintry wonderland and there were little touches of home in every corner, with each guest receiving a Yorkshire teabag and pheasant feather on their place setting. The ceremony itself was a cosy, intimate affair, hosted in the venue’s Cross House Lodge where a spectacular beamed roof, exposed stone walls and warming atmosphere created a rustic romance you could only dream of.

Marriage Menu
The intimate ‘Country House’ atmosphere was matched with the added luxury of Michelin-starred food, something the venue has become renowned for. Joanna and Haydn treat their guests to a gastronomic extravaganza, with everything from roe deer and prosciutto-wrapped pork tenderloin to boozy prune Eton mess and steamed medjool date sponge on offer.

THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE. WE HAD A VARIED MENU WHICH OUR GUESTS ABSOLUTELY LOVED.

After-Dark Delights
The day was rounded off with a spectacular Tipi reception, where open fires, festoon lighting, live music and New Years eve cheer made for the most magical marriage backdrop.
