When it comes to wedding planning, there’s no sharper name in the game than Sue White. With over 16 years of experience and a wealth of industry know how under her belt, her business and our #guestlist planners the White Wedding Company, is a cut above the rest, transforming venues and creating memorable moments for couples across Yorkshire and beyond.

This exclusive Belle Bridal AW20 real wedding, hosted at the inimitable Rudding Park in Harrogate, is an astounding example of Sue’s ability to craft a truly bespoke celebration. From her own perspective, we delve into the planning process behind it from concept to creation, and discover the delights of a true White wedding.

From the Beginning

I first met Sam at the Belle Bridal wedding fair at Rudding Park a year before their wedding. At the time Lewis was working in Dubai, so Sam wanted that extra help and somebody she trusted implicitly to handle the logistics and co-ordination of everything on the day.

An A List Team of Suppliers

Firstly, we recommended a florist both for the church and the venue. Sam wanted her bouquet made of seasonal English flowers, and the team at Rose and Spade sourced these especially for her. Photographs were very important to the couple and I knew that Dominic and Zoe Wright would be a perfect fit. With 10 bridesmaids and groomsmen to photograph, having two photographers was a necessity!

We also sourced chairs for the venue and worked with suppliers to turn the evening reception into an elegant nightclub-style soirée with the ‘wow’ factor – something Sam and Lewis had ideas for but weren’t sure how to achieve.

All Bases Covered

Throughout the planning process I had regular meetings with Sam and the team at Rudding Park to go through every detail of the day, and prepared a four-page running order that was given to each supplier. On the day, we were responsible for setting up the reception room and making sure everything is in place – the band are set up and sound checked, pianist and quartet in place, champagne poured – you name it.

Keeping the day running to time is something we pride ourselves on, and with 130 guests and so many suppliers to co-ordinate, it’s no mean feat!

Into the Swing

After dinner, the room was cleared, and guests changed into evening-wear ready to party the night away.

And finally, we sat down for a well-earned drink.
