What was your favourite trend of 2019?
Part of my signature style is make-up to reveal a woman's true beauty and give an effortlessly elegant look, so my fave trend of 2019 is super-smooth, soft-looking and radiant skin. A great product to assist with this is Starskin’s The Diamond Mask.

In your opinion, what is beauty’s best-kept secret?
For me, beauty’s best-kept secret is self-confidence and happiness… It radiates from a person and you can see it a mile off!

One hero beauty product you never leave home without
The one product I never leave home without has to be Smashbox Primer – it’s great for setting a base for your look.

What is the best hair product of 2019?
In my opinion, the best hair product of 2019 has to be L’Oréal Pli Spray. It’s great for reworking hair and creating texture – ready for an iconic bridal up-do!
L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.ART Pli Shaper 190ml £10.90 lookfantastic
What does a bride tend to come to you with on her first consultation?
For my first consultation with a bride, I always ask them to come with three visuals of how they would like hair and make-up, and then we work together from there.

Jo Leversuch

Based in Darlington, Jo’s passion for make-up has led her to celebrities, such as Andie MacDowell and the Kaiser Chiefs, and onto the glossy pages, including those of IT Vogue, Noctis and Two.

Ultimate Face Tint Shades
My hero product would be Ariane Poole Ultimate Face Tint.
What’s a make-up trend you foresee for 2020?
2020 I feel will be similar to the last year or so with an emphasis on keeping the skin looking "real", even with a full coverage or concealer, and with more attention on ethical and cruelty-free brands.
What was your most memorable make-up job and why?

There are so many memorable jobs over my career as a make-up artist: from meeting celebrities, musicians and working backstage in London, Paris and Milan, to seeing my work on amazing campaigns.
One of my proudest moments, of course, has to be being appointed as the make-up artist to create the front cover images for the one and only: Belle Bridal Magazine!

Tina Elliott

Hours of styling her doll’s hair as a child turned into a love for all things hair for Tina Elliott. Now Tina has over 25 years of styling experience, both in and out of salons and a dedication for the perfect bridal do.

It has to be MARIA NILA vegan dry shampoo. It adds texture and smells amazing.

In your opinion, what is the current “go-to” bridal look?
In my opinion, 2019 brides’ go-to styles are for textured ‘undone-looking’ up-dos, or soft glamorous waves.
What is your all-time favourite hair accessory?
One of my brides wore a vintage golden half hairband, worked into boho textured waves at the back of the hairstyle, while another wore delicate crystal stars pinned into loose Hollywood waves. Neither bride wore a veil, and both looked ultra-modern!

Poppy Lester MUA – Wildflower Makeup and Beauty

Soap Brows by West Barn Co. Just add some setting spray to it and pick up the soap on a spoolie, then comb it through the brows to get a beautifully natural, combed up, fluffy look. It helps keep the brows tidy and in place all day.

What advice would you have for any brides looking for their wedding day look?
Really make the most of your trial appointment with your MUA. If there are a couple of different looks you like but you can’t quite decide, use the trial to see them both applied, as this can help make your decision easier.

How long do you normally spend on a wedding day look?
I aim to apply a bride’s make-up in one hour. I like to start by really taking time to thoroughly prep the skin so that I have a lovely base to work on, as this also helps create an even makeup texture. I’m always sure to leave a good amount of time to check the final look in different lighting and allow the bride to request any finishing touches once she is in her dress and her hair has been styled.

One hero beauty product you never leave home without
My hero product would be Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. It is a complexion booster for fresh, radiant skin in seconds. I use this on all of my brides as a last skincare product before make-up to achieve that bridal glow.
In your opinion, what are the key things a bride should look for when booking a wedding MUA?
They should be approachable and listen to what you want. They need to be open-minded and specialise in the kind of look you want. An easy-going attitude is also a huge positive, as the last thing you need on your wedding day is stress!

Which make-up products are a bride’s ‘must-have’ to keep her make-up picture-perfect on the day?
Lip gloss or lipstick to keep your lips fresh, and pressed powder to keep any shine away in the photos.
