The Event Music Company is Yorkshire’s Premier Live Music, Lighting and Production Company based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

This year they are celebrating a successful 20 years of business. Violinist, Chris Hilton started out the music company in 1999 as just a trio (violin, cello and piano) and string quartet, which later evolved into also offering jazz groups too.
The company’s swing band and DJ, soon developed into Chris Hilton’s Little Big Band. This can be completely tailored, carying in line-up from a five piece to a 20 piece. They now offer all production aspects too, including their own dance floors, lighting and complete project management.


The Event Music Company offers nothing less than the unique combination of exceptional live music and complete event production, run by their amazing dream team, Chris and Lucinda Hilton, violinist and cellist of Trio Vivo.

Our recent events of 2018 include:
- A Diamond Wedding Anniversary Party in Claridge’s, London. The party was fit with a bespoke ten-piece band and complete production.
- A Surprise 70thBirthday Party in The Four Seasons Hotel, Florence. A unique 11-piece band and complete production accompanied the party.
- A Corporate Event in Steigenberger Hotel, Brussels, including Chris Hilton’s Big Band plus staging, lighting, AV and production.
- Stray FM Local Hero Awards at Rudding Park – complete AV, production, lighting and Chris Hilton’s Little Big Band.
- RFL President’s Ball – Chris Hilton’s Big Band plus lighting, dancers, AV and production.
- Macmillan Charity Black Cashmere Ball at Oulton Hall – Chris Hilton’s Little Big Band plus table centres, dance floor, lighting and production.
- Various Weddings from 11 people at Castle Howard, right up to 150 people at Rudding Park.

The details of the set-ups at Rudding Park include: Dance floors (white, black and white and white LED), ceiling draping and fairy lights, pillar fairy lights, LED colour-changing poseur tables, LOVE letter or initial light-up letters, BAR letters and white or black star cloths.
They love to tailor what they do to fit with whatever the occasion or plans. Their own Showroom in Harrogate, opened February 12, 2019, is a superb place to meet for a chat and to see any photos or videos of interest. they will also be having our own LIVE music open evenings in the near future.
