COVID SAFE:
We are aware of the worry surrounding the idea of incorporating sharing elements to your special day in these unpredictable times, but we can put your mind at rest. Our sharing feasts are usually shared between 6-8 guests, and we can provide each guest with individual tongs, so there will be no need to change your menu according to the current climate - result!
Top Tip: Consider the Seasons
From our perspective, we are very fortunate to be in the heart of Yorkshire where we have a fantastic larder of produce and suppliers right on our doorstep. We love to incorporate delicious seasonal and local foods into our menu, whether its lamb, wild garlic, asparagus, or rhubarb. We always encourage our clients to try and design a menu that is within season to make their wedding feast even more memorable and tasty.
What? Strawberries
When? July
Why? Who doesn’t love a big juicy strawb?
British strawberries are delicious and often take us back to pick your own childhood memories. Our Strawberry and Champagne Cheesecake is divine and provides the perfect summer pudding for your big day.
What? Tomatoes
When? August
Why? The British tomato season runs from June to October, so August is the perfect time to catch them at their peak.
In a summer sharing feast, people may think the star of the show is the main element i.e. the meat, but here at Baba we are crazy about sides and exciting salads! And, when it comes to salads, there’s no better ingredient than tomatoes. Our head chef Matt’s favourite memory is picking fresh tomatoes from his grandad’s greenhouse, and having them on a warm summer’s day with a little salt and pepper and fresh bread. Great on bruschetta and in soups too!

SWEET, TANGY TOMATOES ARE DELICIOUS IN ALL SORTS OF SAVOURY DISHES AND WILL GO DOWN A STORM WITH GUESTS.

What? Damsons
When? September
Why? The tiny purple damson is a quirky pocket rocket of a fruit, bringing a true taste of summer to your wedding banquet…
Matt’s dad and step mum have damson trees, so we use these to make our own damson gin chutney using York gin (it have become a tradition to have a little of last year’s damson gin whilst we pick the produce!) A favourite dish of ours is our Fig and Baked Ribblesdale Goats Cheese Tart with Pine Nuts, York Honey and Damson Gin Chutney. The perfect starter for your summer wedding.
