FLORAL FABULOUSNESS
As optimistic as we are at Belle, we always like to err on the side of caution, especially when it means looking after our Bride’s best wishes - and more specifically - their bouquets.
As we dive straight into 2022 and the upcoming wedding season, we have worked with floral masterminds on the Belle Bridal Guest List, The Whole Sch-bang, to put together our guide to Seasonal flowers, and even more importantly, a guide to flowers that are in season all year round. Just in case the worst does happen and you need to switch your dates, you can sleep easy knowing you won’t need to switch your florals.

SPRING
As the days finally start to get lighter, with a sense of renewal and possibility in the air- god only knows we need a bit of that- spring weddings are both bride and florist favourites.
Bringing a riot of colours and scents, Spring flowers are typically a beautiful mix of delicate and textural, fragrant and symbolic.
COLOUR OF THE YEAR 2022:
Decidedly Purple, ‘Very Peri’- whilst being labelled Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2022- also happens to embody all the Spring pastel hues. Stunning sweet smelling Lilacs are contrasted by vibrant Parrot Tulips which create drama with their fluffy petals.
Hellebores are perfect for adding a wild, rustic edge to the design, or Italian poppies to emphasize this boho vibe!
SUMMER
Some of our flower favourites have a very limited season, and bloom at their best in summer only.
As peak Peony season begins as spring ends and extends through into late June they are seen as the quintessential wedding flower. Blooming in white, cream, yellow, pink and red hues it’s easy to see why, they bring a tropical colour palette to your day.
These can be paired with classic Holland Hydrangeas and luxury Roses- such as Chiffon, creating stunning, chic focal points, with less foliage and more floral.
AUTUMN
Bringing rich, moody, dramatic tones to your day, Autumn wedding flowers are all about embracing foliage and berries as well as floral favourites.
Mixing red foliage’s, dried flowers such as Palms and Pampus with crimson accent Roses and deep jewelled toned Dehlias creates an incredibly sultry harmony of florals. Autumnal leaves and branches add volume and texture to rust and golden Carnation and Scabiosa blooms.
WINTER
For colder winter weddings, we love rich burgundy, deep emerald green, dusty mauve tones and blue accents.
Botanical greenery and berries are perfect for helping to build and texturise the design, even bringing in Christmas foliage like evergreen sprigs, berries or acorns as a nod to the season.
Anemones with velvety centres and Lissianthus' create a monochromatic look that can work well if you don’t want to have that ‘Christmas vibe’ in your design.

ALL YEAR ROUND
Year-round flowers are not only relatively easy for your wedding florist to source but also ultimately mean it can reduce the overall cost of your florals.
Combining year-round flowers with more seasonal blooms creates arrangements that are a divine harmony of beautiful, affordable and also on-trend.
A symbol of romance, most Roses are grown in greenhouses and therefore available all year round, these enable brides to create a rich colour palette, blooming in a range of shades. A flower icon during the ’90s, Calla Lilies have made a comeback in recent years due to their luxe and elegant silhouette. Carnations are possibly the most versatile wedding flower as not only are they available in a rainbow of colours they also happen to be one of the easiest flowers to dye, enabling you to make this non-seasonal flower, seasonal!
