MEET THE PLANNER...

Talk us through the service Linda Abrahams & Co provides, and what weddings you specialise in.

WE ARE LUXURY WEDDING AND EVENT PLANNERS, specialising in large multi-event and faith weddings. We spend a lot of time initially getting to know our clients and how we can help turn their thoughts into an incredible day that totally suits them as a couple.

Which venues do you work with?

Our weddings tend to be in either private marquees or venues such as Rudding Park, The Queens, Oulton Hall, The Tithe Barn.

What’s been your favourite wedding you’ve worked on to date?

A HUGE JEWISH WEDDING AT MY CLIENT’S HOUSE. WE BUILT OVER THREE CUSTOM MARQUEES AROUND THEIR HOUSE, WITH MULTI-LEVELS AND DIFFERENT VIBES TO EACH AREA CONNECTED BY BEAUTIFUL TREE-LINED WALKWAYS.

VICTORIA

The ceremony marquee was built around their swimming pool with a magnificent walkway over the pool. The music was incredible – an elegant pianist for the ceremony, and a Paris ShowBand for dinner.

How have you grown over the past year and more importantly, what has the pandemic taught you?

REALISING THAT MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY IS MY THING. I’ve had to channel my calming support and creativity into being a shoulder to cry on for clients that have had weddings cancelled, which has made me miss the positive and rewarding nature of planning.

What's the next trend in weddings?

AMAZING PARTIES. But, if that can’t happen I’ve been looking at creative ways to have an incredible day with smaller numbers, from intimate celebrations throughout the day to online ‘get togethers’ where all guests receive beautiful celebration packages with their own ‘party & picnic in a box’.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding day?

BRIDE AND GROOM FIRST LOOKS. If it’s a Jewish wedding, this is called the bedeken (veiling) ceremony which takes place before the vows. It’s a real tear-jerking moment and something I’m honoured to witness.

Victoria's 5 Planning Must-Dos

• Stay true to the wedding you want, not the one anyone tells you to have!

• Set an affordable budget and stick to it – it’s very easy to get carried away!

• Take a week off before the wedding (if you can) to unwind and just focus on you.

• Delegate! People love to help and you’ll have lots to do – take them up on their offers!

• Ask your planner to give you a ‘first look’ of your dining room before guests enter. This will give you the chance to take in what it all looked like and see all the months of hard work in front of you.

Where would you spend your ideal day off?

SHOPPING AND MEETING FRIENDS FOR A COFFEE. Running a busy business and having three children to organise means days like this are rare!

Finally, what is your biggest piece of advice for brides considering hiring a wedding planner?

GET TO KNOW THE PLANNER AND MAKE SURE YOUR PERSONALITIES CLICK. When you hire a wedding planner you hire a confidante, advisor, friend, designer, and so much more.
