Removing this almost luxury-laden label from the title of a 'wedding planner', Chloe's business Hart Country Weddings is redefining the way we plan, providing worldly advice and an honest approach to all things weddings with a selection of affordable packages that are designed to de-stress.

Talk to us a little about your background. How did it all begin?

"Where to start… I was born in the Yorkshire spa town of Ilkley (Sunday Times best place to live!) where I grew up with my parents, sisters and our family dogs.

The Country Lifestyle has always, and continues to be a huge part of my life. Twenty-something years on, I live on a Country Estate with my own small family. It was in the rural, green surroundings of our home in North Yorkshire that Hart Country Weddings was born.

Not all sunshine and haystacks

The birth of my youngest sister changed everything. Born with extremely complex health needs meant that she was dependent upon my Mum for 24-hour care, 7 days a week and my Dad worked long hours to support us financially.

THIS GAVE ME A WORK ETHIC TO SET MY ASPIRATIONS HIGH. I DISCOVERED THERE WAS A GAP IN THE MARKET TO COMBINE MY LOVE FOR THE COUNTRYSIDE AND WEDDINGS, SO MY WEDDING PLANNING BUSINESS, HART COUNTRY WEDDINGS, WAS BORN IN 2019.

Couples invest so many resources into their Wedding day, so it is paramount that they enjoy every second of it, something that can only be done when you feel at your best.

Boss it, within budget

In the most recent Wedding Report, couples reported that staying within budget was their biggest challenge. In true Yorkshire tradition, we like our couples to receive the best possible services for their money, whilst keeping within-budget. This is why we include our exclusive Budget Management as standard within all our Planning packages, helping our clients to manage their spend without stress.

What do you specialise in?

Helping couples curate lavish ceremonies across The Great British Countryside. We are Yorkshire’s leading Countryside Wedding Planning Service and offer Wedding Coordination both in our home county and further afield.

From Yorkshire-Stone Barns and Bell Tents, to Country Manors and Stately Homes we’ve got it all covered; there is no end of choice when you tie the knot in the country!

Where would you say is your happy place?

Honestly? For me, there’s nowhere happier than home. Whether it be running over the fields, pottering in the garden, or snuggling up by the fire (book in hand), home is my definite happy place.

How have you dealt with the pandemic – both business wise and personally?

I have taken a calm and methodical approach, the same way I deal with most things in life, whether that be work or personal. As a new and upcoming company, 2020 was set to be a huge year for us, with multiple events on the horizon, all set up and ready to go. Covid wiped out those carefully curated plans within days, so it’s been tough.

BUT, we’ve been doing a lot of work behind the scenes. We’re ready to bounce back better than ever!

What has the past year taught you?

 TO BE KINDER TO MYSELF.

AS SOMEONE WHO’S CONSTANTLY ON THE GO, THE ABSENCE OF WORK THROUGHOUT LOCKDOWN LITERALLY FORCED ME TO SIT, REFLECT AND JUST BE. IT’S ACTUALLY BEEN STRANGELY HEALING AND THERAPEUTIC.

Something I’ve also come to accept is that our little business is on a journey. We’re always adapting and improving our services in order to better serve our couples. At the end of the day, that’s really what it’s all about: sharing happiness and making dreams come true!"

Chloe is working on a Self Plan scheme, focussed on cost-efficient and stress-free wedding planning mentoring, which is set to launch this summer.
