 How did the business idea come about?

Having met at University studying photography, we had both always wanted a career as photographers. It was not until we were in our early 30s' that we were able to achieve this dream. After many discussions, we finally got the courage to set up as a female duo. We loved the idea of working together as we are best friends and felt that the offering of two professional photographers, being in two places at the same time was a great USP and working as a team we have the same standards and creative vision.

What is the Emily and Katy mission statement?

OUR MISSION IS TO ENSURE OUR COUPLES HAVE THE BEST DAY POSSIBLE, BY CAPTURING THEIR UNIQUE STORY IN A RELAXED AND FUN WAY.

How would you describe your relationship with each other as friends and business partners? Is it tricky?

We do not find this tricky in any way as we are both pretty relaxed and both very driven for the same success with our businesses. Our differing personalities complement each other which works very well to make a successful team.

You cater for every style of wedding. But what is one thing all your couples have in common?

We would say that all of our couples are looking for a relaxed, natural documentary style of photography. They see the importance of us capturing the story of both of them, as being a duo means that we can be in two places at once.

Three things you always have in your kit bag on a wedding day:

Apart from our cameras of course, we always have our fanny packs that are full of important and useful items that are often needed on a wedding day. A protein bar to keep us powering on through the day and our plan of action which we create with our couples, so we know when and where to be on the day and the important details of their day.
