The family-run company has over twenty years of experience in transforming old buildings into beautiful wedding venues, responsible for the likes of Healey Barn in Northumberland and The Tithe Barn in Yorkshire, and this latest instalment is no different, packed with character and mod-cons to create a venue oozing rustic luxury.
Located conveniently between Derby and Ashbourne, journey down a long private drive and you will encounter Grangefields’ impressive brick-built façade. An LA-style courtyard with fire pits and string lights sits neatly in amongst a beautiful shoe-horn of buildings, boasting character and class in equal measure.

This exclusive-use venue has many features which are typically only seen in five-star hotels – from a glass-fronted show kitchen with a French rotisserie, rotating wood-fired pizza oven and a huge charcoal barbecue as the centrepiece, to colour-changing dance floor lights and a state-of-the-art Funktion-One sound system in the huge reception room.
Every detail has been thought of – guests won’t miss a beat (or a speech) with speakers in the loos, while the seven-meter-long oak bar is illuminated with chrome lights taken from an old warship. Nature and modern elegance intertwine, with hanging greenery from the ceiling and an impressive wall of glass framing the stunning views out over the Derbyshire hills.

The old vaulted chapel-like ceremony room has over 150 handmade lead windows, a log fire for the winter months and hundreds of candles and fairy lights to create a magical ambience for your marriage moment. Designed with British weather in mind, the glass-fronted Dutch Barn has a raised veranda that enables 150 guests to have drinks and canapés in the rain whilst enjoying the rolling countryside views.
As dusk rolls in, outside provides the perfect stage for your dream wedding evening. With huge fire pits and festoon lights, an outdoor ceremony room that doubles up as a bar and old cow troughs that can be filled with ice and drinks, the sheltered courtyard is the place to host a dazzling twilight reception under the stars. Mill and chat, dance and drink, cosy up and toast marshmallows, could it get any better?

Food and drink isn’t left to chance here.
The in-house chefs at Grangefields are passionate about providing a simple yet exceptional offering that couples can be sure will impress. Cooked over the open flames of their Asado grill, indoor BBQ and French rotisseries, dishes are freshly prepared using the finest ingredients and served generously, from BBQ sirloin steaks, whole ASADO lambs to succulent rotisserie chicken.
Wine aficionados will be happy here too. Grangefields boast longstanding relationships with artisan winemakers across Europe, visiting each producer personally and buying wine directly from the vineyards ensuring your guests will receive only the best.
