Now more than ever, we’re seeing very good boys (and girls) making the cut on couples’ big-day guest lists – and why on earth not? Not only is it important to have you and your partner’s buddy in attendance, pups also make for incredibly cute photo opportunities. Whether they’re in a fetching little tuxedo suit, a dapper bow tie, a collar of fresh blooms or in the simple splendour of their own shiny coat, there are few things more joyful than a wedding party lineup that includes an elated pooch. Someone who understands this pup perspective better than anyone is Cameron, founder of Wagging Tails Weddings. As he quite rightly puts it, “you spend all your spare time with your dog, so why leave them at home on your wedding day?”. A professional dog walker by day, he recognised a gap in the wedding industry when planning his own 2023 nuptials. While everyone that he’d normally trust to look after his beloved German shepherd Cassie in attendance, he didn’t want them to miss out on any magical moments throughout the celebrations. It was this experience that led him to launch the wedding service, so that dog-loving brides and grooms don’t have to choose between the needs of their human and canine guests.

Alongside his fellow pooch-walking team members Alan and Nichola, Cameron is experienced with all breeds of dogs, from chihuahua to great Dane, and as avid dog lovers, they treat every pup as if they’re their own, spending time getting to know their temperament before the big day itself. Fully insured and DBS checked, Wagging Tails Weddings is a trusted supplier of choice for a number of wedding venues across the north-east, including the Apartment Group venues, Le Petit Chateau and Newton Hall.

PUP PACKAGES

Wagging Tails Weddings allows lovers to put together their very own package, tailored to suit their mini VIP. Covering an array of potential necessities, from an initial consultation and week of pre-wedding dog walks to acquaint the chaperone with their charge to taking the pup to on-the-day grooming appointments, burning off energy with a long stroll before the ceremony and assistance with group photos including your dog. Cameron can even stay at your venue until the party is over so you don't have to worry about your pup being alone for a single second!

My husband and I can’t recommend Cameron enough! He made having our dog at our wedding possible and a stress free experience! He made sure to spend time with Daisy on the run up to the wedding so she knew who he was and went above and beyond for her on the day! She was one spoilt doggy. Cameron is a lovely person who clearly has a lot of love for dogs. We were able to capture some lovely moments of us and Daisy on our special day which wouldn’t have been possible without Cameron. 5 stars is not enough

Cameron was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish and by far one of our favourite suppliers from our wedding day. The service he provided us with was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. We planned our wedding in just 6 months, so Cameron’s prompt responses to all of our queries were key to ensure that we could achieve our ideal day and have our dog, Ronnie, be a part of that. We don’t usually trust anyone with Ronnie, he only ever stays with family, but Cameron was our exception to this. He even travelled all the way down to Teesside to meet Ronnie and take him for a walk with my husband before the big day so that they were familiar with one another. Ronnie absolutely loved Cameron and we felt so relaxed and happy knowing that he was being taken such good care of and that all of his needs were being met. We even received a gallery of behind the scenes photographs afterwards from Cameron which showed us the day from Ronnie's perspective. This included his walk before the ceremony etc. (and him fast asleep at the end of the night!) This was a lovely touch, as we obviously didn’t get to see any of that at the time. It was so important and an absolute priority to us that Ronnie was there with us on our special day and we couldn’t have done that without Cameron.

Cameron looked after our Cockapoo on our wedding day in July 2024 and he was absolutely fantastic! He travelled over to Cumbria for our wedding and even took the time to get to know Cooper before the day. Cooper loved him. On the day he went above and beyond to ensure that Cooper was comfortable and happy at all times. We really couldn't have asked for anyone better. All the guests commented on how amazing he was - he managed to make our energetic, people loving, crazy cockapoo behave perfectly at a busy wedding, he really does work magic! Thank you so much for looking after Cooper on our wedding day.
