INTRODUCTION

If you’re looking for laidback luxury, look no further. Whinstone View offers couples a completely unique wedding setting founded on countryside serenity, situated in the middle of a private estate surrounded by woodland. Within the 14 acres of land the venue boasts eight luxury Scandinavian log cabins (with hot tubs), a bistro with indoor and outdoor dining, a small and serene spa and a purpose-built, rustic wedding barn. The tagline

Whether that's relaxing in the day spa or with a cup of coffee surrounded by greenery; unwinding at one of the well-being classes or with guests over lunch discussing the day before; and indulging in eating good food and drink or stretching out in your cabin, Whinstone View will provide the perfect union of wedding magic before, during and after the big day.

WRAY’S BARN

Bringing together traditional craftsmanship and modern materials, Whinstone’s Wray’s Barn provides a wonderfully warm, charmingly rustic setting for a natural country wedding. This alluring space is the beating heart of weddings at Whinstone and stands as a focal point for your big day, able to host both the ceremony and reception and offer a completely unique atmosphere for both.

When we designed the barn, we wanted to create a beautiful wedding venue which was full of character and blended in with our serene surroundings and family history.

WHINSTONE VIEW

Wray's Barn is self-contained, meaning any wedding here has exclusive use to all facilities in the barn including: an impressive bar area, private courtyard and external veranda. Experience luxury with a red carpet entrance and let nature in with full length folding doors which can open onto the surrounding lawns with an impressive view of Whinstone View's grounds and the fabulous, and iconic, willow tree.

Let guests spill out onto the lawn in summer months for Pimms, garden games and a spot of croquet – or even add a Tipi to host your reception. Country wedding goals.

Inside, perfectly-appointed neutral, soft rustic interiors envelop guests in a sense of homeliness and provide the perfect backdrop and lighting for out-of-this-world wedding images. Add to that a wooden dance floor and sophisticated sound system and you’ve got the perfect party spot. Transform this space to suit any theme, working with the in-house wedding team every step of the way.

Weddings can take place with or without a civil ceremony. The barn will seat up to 150 guests for a reception and 120 people for a Civil Ceremony.

Before or after the big day, head to the new outdoor bar and kitchen which is now the perfect addition to the terrace area. You can enjoy stone-baked pizzas, crisp pints, world wines and cool cocktails overlooking the gorgeous grounds.

Whinstone has eight Scandinavian log cabins to choose from if you want to add accommodation to your wedding package. Stay the night before your wedding in one of the luxury log cabins complete with hot tub, or reserve the Blue Lodge which can sleep up to six people. For Belle, the three-storey log cabin, Frida, which sleeps eight, is perfect for a sleepover with your bridesmaids!

The real gem in Whinstone View’s crown though, is the onsite spa. Indulge in a relaxing massage the day before your wedding or pop in for a manicure or pedicure with your bridesmaids – it’s the perfect space to leave you feeling relaxed and ready for your special day.

Whinstone was the first venue we went to view and as soon as we met with the team and walked into the barn, we knew that it was the venue for us. It gave the warmest, cosiest feeling, yet still so romantic. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was incredible, the bar staff did not stop smiling and dancing and the staff in the Bistro the evening before and for breakfast the day after could not have done a better job, especially in getting our preorder spot on. Our wedding guests still talk about their gigantic trio of desserts and the delicious supper bowls! We will never be able to thank you enough for giving us thee most perfect wedding day. It really is no surprise you have been crowned Teesside’s best wedding venue! Our wedding may have been and gone but this is just the start of our visits to such a wonderful place.

We had the most amazing wedding at Whinstone View. Dawn and the rest of the staff were so attentive on the day and made sure that everything happened on time and that everyone was well looked after. It really took a lot of stress out of the day. The venue itself is beautiful and the food was fantastic (we had the pie, very recommended!). We booked the weekend package which included accommodation at the on-site log cabins for our close family and everyone loved them. The hot tubs got good use! We truly had the perfect wedding and we know that we owe a lot of that to Whinstone View and the staff that work there!

My wife and I (still love saying that) had our wedding at Whinstone View on December 4th after having to delay it due to Covid. The day couldn’t have gone better! All of the staff were incredible and went above and beyond from the moment we walked in the day before, to the moment we left. Huge thanks to Charlotte who ran the day for keeping me, the warmest human who has ever lived, cool by adjusting the air con for me constantly and also Dawn who from our first meeting was excellent and made the day run without a single hitch, excuse the pun. Still a few months on people are still talking about the food (the pie) and how amazing it was. We cannot wait to come for dinner there again and stay in the most beautiful and relaxing lodges. Thank you! You made it an incredible day that we will never ever forget.

All I can say is that the team at Whinstone View are AMAZING, we couldnt have asked for more. They have negotiated their way through the pandemic fabulously and we had both our small ceremony and our wedding celebrations in the barn and both times we couldn't have asked any more of the team. A truly memorable experience...we just want to do it all again now! xx
