Middleport Pottery

INTRODUCTION

Oozing rustic charm and industrial chic, Middleport Pottery’s Victorian brickwork and distinctive period features set it apart as a wedding venue with a real difference. Ideal for quirky couples seeking an original and flexible approach to wedding planning, this Stoke-on-Trent icon is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and has a number of wedding-reception options, from the stunning Burgess Room to the light-filled spacious Regal Peacock Room.

This laid-back pottery's array of spaces will accommodate guest lists of varying sizes, as well as provide excellent add-on spots, such as The Bottle Kiln which provides a completely unique backdrop for some breath-taking photos. Also, The Davenport Gallery, which is ideal as an informal break-out space for drinks receptions, sweet stations, gift tables or to display your seating plan. From the aisle to last dance, this historical site has serious vow factor.

THE BURGESS ROOM

If the Burgess Room upstairs looks a tad familiar, that’s because Middleport Pottery used to play host to Channel 4’s the Great Pottery Throw Down. Hosting a selection of the original moulds used in the Burleigh Factory dating back up to 130 years, the scene is already set for couples looking for an industrial aesthetic. Its dramatic dark beams and open space make it a beautiful blank canvas to allow your vision to shine through to host up to 80 of your nearest and dearest for a feast.

Belle Loves

The real pièce de résistance is that you and your beloved can say ‘I do’ in the pottery’s beautifully intimate Bottle Oven - a striking circular spot that you won't find anywhere else in the UK but here. Please note that the maximum capacity is 15.

THE REGAL PEACOCK ROOM

The bright Regal Peacock space is the largest venue room at Middleport Pottery, with capacity for 120 guests. Bathed in light by the host of original Victorian windows features at the front of the building, it’s adorned with vintage festoon lighting to give the area a soft and romantic aura. If you’re looking to host a smaller celebration, the Arden Mezzanine is an intimate cozy space ideal for a ceremony of 40 or for you and your guests to take a break from the dance floor and decompress over a G&T.

CANAL SIDE LOCATION

Summer wedding? No problem, Middleport Pottery’s canalside space overlooks the Trent and Mersey, perfect backdrop for a drinks reception. You can also save on costs by consulting the venue’s two preferred caterers to create a completely bespoke menu that will have your guests in awe. You can even make an impactful bridal arrival via the historic narrowboat, The Dane!
