INTRODUCTION

St Chad’s is set in the shadow of Durham Cathedral and fronts onto North Bailey, a medieval street. Beyond the gardens, the land falls away into the wooded gorge of the River Wear which flows round this high peninsula, once the citadel of the Prince Bishops.

Providing full packages covering food, drink, glorious gardens and beautiful reception rooms, this historic venue is packed with everything you need for a magical celebration in the city. Picture the scene: your guests can enjoy drinks on the lawn, in the splendid surrounds of the Moulsdale Hall, before moving to the glass-covered Cassidy Quad, for your romantic reception.

NOT TO BE A CLICHÉ, BUT WE ABSOLUTELY HAD THE BEST DAY OF OUR LIVES! WE'RE BOTH DURHAM UNIVERSITY GRADUATES, SO GETTING MARRIED AT ST. CHAD'S MEANT A LOT TO US BOTH. THE SPACE WORKED SO BEAUTIFULLY FOR THE WHOLE DAY, AND THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE QUAD FROM CEREMONY ROOM TO DANCE FLOOR WAS SEAMLESS.
