Fringing and ombre and patterned organza, oh my! Louisa admits to not having much of an idea about what she wanted to wear when planning her wedding to partner Rob.

I JUST KNEW I DIDN’T WANT A TRADITIONAL DRESS. BUT AFTER SEEING A BEXBRIDES ADVERT IN A BRIDAL MAGAZINE, I KNEW THAT THE ROWAN DRESS WAS MINE! THE GREY FRINGING WAS WHAT SUCKED ME IN.

And it’s not hard to see why. Designer Bex’s iconic Rowan two piece comprises a satin slip dress and a devoré organza kimono wrap, with an ombre smoky grey hem. When it came to getting the perfect fit, Lou travelled to Bex’s studio three times in the lead-up to the day to ensure her custom ensemble was tailored perfectly. To complete the look, the pair collaborated on the sash ribbon belt: “we sat on the floor of her studio going through a box of vintage brooches, decals and embroidery off-cuts to come up with the central detail,” the bride says. “She hand-stitched it right there and then.”
When Louisa arrived at her spectacular Victorian garden cemetery ceremony venue, Arnos Vale, she says that her outfit caused quite a stir amongst those who know her best: “My personal style is probably best described as alternative, and nine times out of 10, I wear black. So, most people thought I’d be wearing a black wedding dress – especially as we were getting married at a cemetery!”
“My gemstone crown was a Wish purchase. I ordered it long before the wedding, not expecting it to be as beautiful as it is. However, it was incredibly heavy and difficult to keep in place, so I switched it for the floral crown before the sit-down meal and party.”

“I bought my silver strappy sandals from an independent eBay seller, after falling in love with them on-screen. I used to compete in ballroom and Latin championships, and they’re very similar to the Supadance shoes I used to compete in. Before we went into the cemetery grounds for our photographs, I switched to my favourite Vans platform trainers – wearing heels wouldn’t have been very practical!”
