A Sicilian Inspired Country-Garden Wedding
Inspired by their Sicilian roadtrip adventure, Elle and Ali’s Halton Grove wedding in August 2024 was an immaculate style marriage of Italian rustic charm mixed with a quintessential English country-garden palette.

HOW THEY DID IT
Elle, Belle Bridal’s content manager, and Alistair exchanged vows this August in a sun-drenched ceremony set in the picturesque Northumberland countryside. Fresh from a romantic road trip around Sicily to celebrate their engagement, the couple returned with a clear vision for their dream wedding. The result? A breathtaking fusion of Italian countryside charm and rural English elegance at Halton Grove. With no detail overlooked, their nuptials were a lavish celebration that brought the best of both worlds to life in spectacular fashion.

ELLE’S BEST BITS
The outdoor ceremony was truly the most magical moment of our day. We styled the scene with rustic pots brimming with olive-tree foliage, beautifully blended with English country garden flowers, creating an atmosphere that felt both intimate and timeless.

DOING IT OUR WAY
We decided to shake things up and skip a few wedding traditions! Instead of a traditional cake, we went with a giant champagne tower adorned with edible flowers—after all, not everyone wants cake, but everyone will happily take another glass of bubbly! As for the first dance? We passed on that too. It just wasn’t our style, and the thought of it made us cringe. So, we swapped it out for a 10pm rave, complete with glow sticks.

MY SOMETHING BLUE
The colour blue was woven through every detail of the wedding. From the sparkling aquamarine and diamond ring passed down from my late grandmother to the bridesmaid dresses that perfectly matched the clear summer sky. The theme continued with elegant touches like the blue flowers, welcome signs, toast glasses, and napkins, creating a cohesive and meaningful palette that tied our day together beautifully.
